with other professionals and solutions
providers to manage specific expertise, including but not limited to,
forensic experts, coding, hosting providers, lawyers and paralegals.
eTERA Consulting makes a conscious decision to partner, rather than employ these professionals,
for some of the following reasons:
• To shield testifying experts from attorney-client privileged
or work-product protected information throughout the process;
• To employ highly-skilled forensic experts only when needed, enabling
eTERA Consulting to work in a streamlined fashion and pass savings on to our clients;
• To create higher-quality infrastructure solutions for advanced web review;

To utilize “best-of-breed” trial technology consultants, trial
equipment experts, and trial presentation specialists only when needed,
allowing eTERA Consulting to work more efficiently and pass that savings on
to our clients; and
• To obtain specific legal advice and support on matters which require
a
lawyer with specific credentials.
eTERA Consulting is able to provide legally separated
experts in
both the forensic collection and legal advice arena. This separation
allows the firm to provide experts in areas in which there are likely
to be conflicts
of interest.
In partnership with eTERA Consulting’s selected forensic collection companies, eTERA Consulting leverages expert staff for external investigation and forensic evidence collection. These subject matter experts (ranging from former police officers to highly trained security experts with military or government intelligence experience and/or doctoral degrees in forensic technology) provide specialized skills in the collection and analysis of incident information. These experts will provide expert testimony in any judicial proceedings and will act as expert witnesses in court, if deemed necessary. Unlike other electronic discovery firms, eTERA Consulting’s experts span the legal industry, government sector and the intelligence community.
eTERA Consulting avoids the costly infrastructure necessary to provide secure web hosting and instead leaves the infrastructure management to specialists. Through outsourcing, eTERA Consulting is able to focus on providing superior project management and customer service, while still providing 24/7, 99.99% uptime for web review. eTERA Consulting currently has ongoing working partnerships with Catalyst® and RenewData® (to provide iConect® hosting services). However, given specific client requirements, eTERA Consulting has also established other working relationships. For example, eTERA Consulting has a partnership with Clearwell™ in which the hosting is provided by eTERA Consulting in order to ensure that the data can be accessed more easily by the firm’s electronic discovery specialists.
eTERA Consulting’s Trial Technology and Courtroom Graphics division provides trial technology consultants, trial equipment experts, trial presentation specialists and graphic specialists for litigation support in war rooms and courtrooms for trials, hearings and arbitrations.
Finally, lawyers are oft best suited to draft proper requests for production of documents. For these services, eTERA Consulting partners with experienced lawyers who have been at the forefront of electronic discovery, automated records management, and trial support matters for decades. These lawyers have years of experience writing legal documents that require technical know-how and overall business savvy to ensure that a proper review is completed on all legal documents related to a case or filing, and bring their collective experience and knowledge to bear on every client matter.
