eTERA Consulting’s management team has significant experience consulting with its clients and an enviable record of success, as demonstrated through its track record of successfully delivering consistent methodologies and integrated solutions that help win cases and reduce costs.
Scott Holec, Principal / President: Mr. Holec has more than 12 years technology and direct project management experience involving legal document production. As President of eTERA Consulting, he frequently consults on large, complex litigation matters, with emphasis on developing the most cost efficient methods for our clients while maintaining the highest level of quality data. He regularly advises clients on all aspects of electronic discovery with a specific focus on second requests, antitrust, intellectual property and general litigation matters.
Mike Garner, Principal / Senior Executive Vice President: Mr. Garner has been consulting with clients on electronic discovery and paper production for more than 10 years. As a previous business development consultant at Merrill Corporation and Capitol Legal, he was responsible for consulting with clients and managing large document requests. As the Vice President of Business Development at eTERA Consulting, he specializes in ITC/SEC as well as other government filings and has the unique experience to provide guidance through the pitfalls of these filings.
Shannon McNeill Burns, Litigation Support Consultant: Ms. Burns has 18 years of litigation support management experience in all stages of traditional and electronic document discovery. Ms. Burns is a certified Summation® trainer and has 5 years experience working with Summation iBlaze®. Prior to joining eTERA Consulting, Ms. Burns was President of McNeill Training and Consulting, a litigation support consulting company whose clients included law firms and corporate legal departments. Ms. Burns also spent 14 years with Wiley, Rein & Fielding serving in various litigation support roles.
Mary
Flory, Senior
Consultant In her role as Senior Consultant, Mary Flory is responsible for
managing large, complex litigations and cases involving e-discovery. Prior
to joining eTERA Consulting, Ms. Flory served as the Senior Manager of Practice
Support at Dickstein Shapiro in Washington, DC.
During her tenure at Dickstein Shapiro dating back to 1997, Ms Flory specialized
in large, complex MDL litigations, IP litigation and insurance litigation.
Her responsibilities at Dickstein Shapiro included strategic planning and
she managed the firm’s litigation support operations and staff members.
Ms. Flory was also a member of the firm’s E-discovery committee.
Prior to joining Dickstein Shapiro, Ms. Flory worked as a Litigation Support
Manager in the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice and at Wiley
Rein & Fielding.
Ms. Flory has extensive experience assisting clients in establishing budgets
and protocols for the collection of paper and electronic evidence. She consults
with clients on how to plan, design and manage in-house and third-party computerized
litigation support applications. Ms. Flory utilizes a variety of applications
that provides instantaneous access to relevant electronic data and allows
clients to collaborate while they search, review, annotate and produce documents.
Ms. Flory holds a M.I.S. from Mary Mount University in Arlington, VA, and
a B.A. from The University of Virginia. In addition, she received a paralegal
certificate from The George Washington University in 1989.
Bob Gillespie, Vice President, ESI Consulting: Mr. Gillespie was previously the Regional Operations Manager at Merrill Corporation managing the regional offices of Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Atlanta and Miami and the Director of Client Services at Capitol Legal. Within law firms, he was the Legal Assistant Coordinator at Ross, Dixon & Bell and a legal assistant at four Washington, D.C. firms. As the Vice President of ESI Consulting at eTERA Consulting, he is responsible for managing large second requests, consulting on electronic discovery matters, and providing additional protocols to the electronic discovery processes.
Raquel Guzman, Project Manager: Ms. Guzman manages day-to-day operations at eTERA Consulting. A candidate for the official PMI certification, Ms. Guzman uses all of the principles of the PMI practices to ensure that our clients are continually kept well informed both verbally and through up-to-date status reports from the very beginning of a project and even after completion. In addition, she makes sure that the client is provided with proper project documents. Ms. Guzman is also a certified trainer in Catalyst®, one of the leading web-based document review platforms.
Todd Haley, Vice President, E-Discovery: Before coming to eTERA Consulting, Mr. Haley was the Chief Technology Officer of Spriggs & Hollingsworth and was responsible for their litigation support and information technology department. As the Vice President of E-Discovery at eTERA Consulting, he is responsible for managing eTERA Consulting’s electronic discovery specialists and the processes and procedures necessary to ensure the handling of all projects. In addition, he confers regularly with lawyers, corporate counsel, litigation support directors and other legal staff to assist with their electronic discovery matters, with emphasis on joint defense groups, multi-district litigation and class actions in the areas of product liability, toxic tort, environmental, government contracts and white collar crime.
Sasha Hefler, Vice President of Global Strategy and Communications, is responsible for eTERA Consulting’s marketing, business development and educational events. Prior to joining eTERA, Ms. Hefler was the president of the Masters Conference, where she developed the event into one of the legal industry’s most respected educational conferences. Her ability to quickly grasp the needs of corporate clients and business partners, coupled with her high-energy personality, ensures outstanding results for every project she undertakes. Sasha’s previous experience includes a wide range of business expertise including ten years managing large advertising accounts for McDonalds, American Express, and Sea World.
Paul Izzett, EDD Operations Manager: Mr. Izzett is responsible for overseeing and managing all production services, including copying, scanning, printing, imaging, coding and blowbacks and electronic discovery. He is also responsible for overseeing project and production managers and software training. Mr. Izzett has more than 12 years of experience in litigation support, including eight years in EDD. He has extensive experience working with several leading technology applications including: Clearwell™; Law™; Catalyst®; IPRO®; and Doculux®.
Jackie Jenkins, Director, Professional Services: Ms. Jenkins specializes in the recruiting, screening, testing and placement of temporary, temporary to hire, and permanent staffing of paralegals and all other support staff. Prior to joining eTERA Consulting, Ms. Jenkins was a law firm administrator at two Washington, D.C. firms for over ten years.
Joe Kanka, Vice President, Corporate Development: Mr. Kanka has 30 years of management experience including 15 years managing corporate law departments, document review projects, litigation support centers, discovery sites, evidence libraries, and trial war rooms. Mr. Kanka has also developed systems for tracking asbestos claims, legislative and regulatory issues, and trial witnesses and exhibits. Throughout his career, Mr. Kanka has held key legal management positions with AT&T, Bell Atlantic, Steptoe & Johnson, and managed legal staffing companies in Washington, D.C. Mr. Kanka also provides training programs in legal project management.
Frank Koszorus, Jr., Director: Mr. Koszorus is an attorney with more than 25 years experience in Washington, D.C. His practice has focused on complex litigation in federal and state courts and advocacy before the departments and agencies of the U.S. government and Congress. Mr. Koszorus has advised corporations, high-profile individuals and government entities on international and public policy matters and successfully represented clients in arbitration and mediation proceedings.
Jon
Moreland, Vice President
of Sales: With 11 years of industry experience, Mr. Moreland has distinguished
himself as an industry leader in sales and management. After receiving
his MBA, he sold litigation support services for Uniscribe Professional
Services. Mr. Moreland sold such complex cases as a pharmaceutical class
action, the tire rollover case, and a failed airline merger and won President’s
Club sales trips to Law Vegas and the Bahamas. In 2003, he was recruited
to launch the Whitmont Legal Technologies sales effort in Washington, DC.
Mr. Moreland hired and mentored new sales executives and helped grow the
DC office to over $5 Million annually in less than 3 years, becoming the
top sales performer nationally in 2005. Most recently, he was Director
of Senior Solutions Consultants at Encore Discovery Solutions. He increased
sales in law firms, corporations, and the federal government, and solely
earned Encore a GSA contract with the Federal Government. Mr. Moreland
joined eTERA Consulting in June 2009 and is known for developing strong
business relationships, training & mentoring team members, and from
his ability to sell large contracts to legal, corporate, and government
clients throughout the country.
Samuel Morgan, Discovery Consultant: Mr. Morgan comes to eTERA Consulting as a seasoned legal service professional with nearly 10 years of legal experience. He most recently led the temporary staffing division for an international legal staffing firm. Prior to that, Mr. Morgan was a Sr. Litigation Paralegal at 2 major Philadelphia law firms, where he routinely played a vital role in many complex “bet the company” cases. His proven record of success made him into the “Go-To-guy” for many partners and senior associates. Through this experience, Mr. Morgan has gained an incredible understanding of the litigation process, as well as a high aptitude for identifying and creating best practices that increase efficiency from law firms and their corporate clients.
Ted Mussenden, Vice President, Trial Technology and Courtroom Graphics: Mr. Mussenden has provided trial support for more than 600 jury and bench courts, administrative agencies, and arbitration forums as well as ITC Section 337 Investigations. A graphic artist for the last 37 years with the past 18 years specific to the legal arena, he is uniquely qualified to advise on all aspects of graphics, courtroom and war room technology, trial logistics and presentation development. As the Vice President of Trial Technology and Courtroom Graphics, he manages, staffs and coordinates all trial technology consulting services.
